Hi! I’m Kathy Miller Perkins.
Before founding Miller Consultants, I had a wide variety of jobs: waitress, nursing home attendant, factory worker (boxing beer bottles on a packing line), teacher, selling wigs at Kmart. However, no matter the nature of my work, my engagement in it depended on the culture of the organization:
Did the organization live the values they promoted?
Did they know how to measure the impact of their people strategies?
Did they attract ~ and keep ~ talented people?
Did the customers think the organization’s promises were authentic?
Too often the answer was “no.”
My work experiences made me want to make a difference in the work lives of others.
I care about how people experience their work. I believe that all of us should understand our value to our organizations and take pride in our contributions to the betterment of our world.
I believe in the significance of company purpose, the capacity for leadership in everyone, the power of positive cultures and the promise of transformation.
I realized that I wanted to translate these beliefs into action. I wanted to show organizations that creating a vibrant culture, one that embeds purpose beyond profits, leads to greater, sustainable success.
So I founded Miller Consultants.
More about me here and on LinkedIn. But Miller Consultants is so much more than just me…
Miller Consultants
For over 30 years, Miller Consultants has had the privilege of working with some of the most admired and well-known organizations around the world, including:
Toyota, Brown-Forman, Nestle, Dow, P&G, BC Hydro, Nedbank, Valvoline, National Center for Family Literacy, IBM.
We collaborate with our clients to build organizational cultures that truly support their purpose, values, and strategies. We join forces with them to engage their employees and to inspire innovation. And we assist them with strategies for navigating change while, at the same time, helping them develop stronger change-related capabilities.
We have seen how companies succeed when purpose beyond profits is embedded in their culture. People thrive when they understand how their work contributes to the company’s success and to society’s well-being.
And now, over 30 years later, we are thankful to our past clients for allowing us to help them make their business ~ and society ~ better. But more importantly, we are excited at the prospect of helping new clients do the same for the next 30 years.
The Miller Consortium
In the beginning, Miller Consultants operated with a traditional employment structure. However, about 20 years ago we pioneered a flexible, virtual organizational model by building a collaborative team of experts, a consortium. This consortium model allows Miller Consultants to gather the very best experts from around the world and engage them with improving your organization’s culture.
Even though we aren’t all located in the same building, city or even country, make no mistake – we are a tight group. Our shared purpose, compatible values, and positive culture bind us together. We are a consortium of the best and brightest organizational innovators you will ever find.
We help our clients become more competitive by developing a sustainable culture.

The focus of the initiative was to design work to become more customer-focused and proactive. Our strategies included assessing the culture to determine how to leverage the strengths and address issues that could become barriers to change. We took the lead on this project since they were emphasizing the need for organizational alignment with their new direction. Our role was to assess the organizational culture and to collaborate with an internal team to establish changes needed to carry out the emerging sustainability strategy and achieve their goals. In addition, our role was to help them develop and implement a culture change strategy.
